How It All Started...

A brand new blog, and start.

Welcome to Learn How To Make Fabric Flowers.

I have created this blog as an outlet for all my flowers that I make.

A little background information.

I started making flowers out of recycled fabrics a few years ago. It started out as a hobby which now has turned into some say an obsession.

Everytime I go shopping for clothes, I look at the fabric and wonder.. "Hmm.. I could make a really pretty flower out of that..."

My fashion sense is not what people would call chic. But I do alright, I guess.

I have 4 children. Ages are 6, 4, 2 and 1. So at the moment I am pretty busy. I made my first fabric flower at the end of 2009. I was cleaning out the closet, wondering what to do with all the clothes that I was to send to the Salvation Army when I discovered that I could actually make something nice out of it. Can you imagine p

I have since then created a few pieces. (A few is an understatement!)

When I first started I made a lot of mistakes. So I decided to film myself making the flowers, since every time I created one I would forget what I did to make it.

Later on scribbling out pages and pages of notes, measurements, and materials I used. If you saw my pile of papers, notes and fabric samples you'd probably think I went mad.

I am some would call "rustic" or messy haha. My house is a clean mess. =D

I had a friend ask me if I could teach her how to do some of the flowers. So I sent her the videos. To my amazement, she was able follow the instructions. Which gave me the idea of making instructional videos or some people call it tutorials.

I have edited the videos and cleaned up the manual. I will soon have up on this nice blog for you all to access.

Thanks for reading.
